We made it through another day and we didn't have to visit the hospital. We did visit the doctor and we did talk to the lung dr twice. I decided this morning to call Karson's lung dr after he woke up wheezing and coughing. The wheezing began this morning. It always worries me when this happens.
I started this morning sleeping my half on Karson's floor and hearing him wheeze. I had been in his room since about 3ish when my shift on the floor began. Karson is sleeping better in his chair than his bed. So since I worry about him so much right now, we are taking turns on the floor. This way I can make sure his oxygen is on and his levels are not too low. He is on oxygen all the time right now.
After talking with his lung dr and being told I am doing exactly what they would be doing at the hospital, I felt some comfort. It is so much better to be at home with all my kids then worrying about who will be with the older kids while I am at the hospital. And since Kyle is so busy at work, it does not allow us to have him home. Such is life.
As the morning went on, I felt that Karson might be getting worse. I called Dr. Tucker's office and got him at 11:55 am. This is after I spent time at Target getting to scripts filled for him and dropping another $60 this month there. Oh well.
Dr. Tucker's office said his lungs sounded pretty good. Keep doing what I am doing and if at any time I feel uncomfortable then take him to the hospital. But the hospital would be doing exactly what I am doing unless he gets worse. So I headed home so he could be with his toys and I could be with my other kids.
I also took the afternoon to wash everything that Karson touches. All "softies" made it to the washer machine and the rest met Clorox. This made me feel somewhat better that I knew his toys and such were clean and didn't harbor any germs until he touched them.
The older kids have done so well with all of Karson's issues. Kam is dealing with missing his "bopie" aka pacifier when I make it stay in his room. Bailey plays and does what she can to entertain herself when I have to tend to Karson.
Overall the day has been busy and exhausting so much so that I could not find the energy to make it to the gym. The one free hour I had to myself I didn't want to go to the gym. I was tried and wanted to eat lunch at 2 pm and get a few things picked up.
Now it is time to get ready for another night on the floor and hope that Monday comes and Karson is better. This has been close to three weeks on the oxygen. Three long weeks!
